With its high volume, compound, construction and tread, it always gets you and your luggage to their destination.SUPER DEFENSEThe Motion Pick-Up gets its high puncture protection from the extremely stable six-layer 67-EPI double carcass which we have developed especially for cargo bike tires. It effectively prevents punctures and piercings reaching our second highest puncture protection level 6+ – the highest aside from our flat-less tire series. Hence we call it “Super Defense”.FAIR AND RESOURCE EFFICIENTWe have the know-how and manufacturing technology to make bike tires extraordinarily environmentally friendly – without compromising on performance. In addition, fair-trade rubber is used – for an environmentally friendly, fair-trade and resource-efficient tire.SAFETY THROUGH TECHNOLOGYTREAD EXPLAINEDWith its large, interlocking center blocks, the Motion Pick-Up offers a wide tread. The smaller blocks in the side surfaces and shoulder areas are strong diamonds which deliver enormous grip when cornering, in the wet and on uneven surfaces.ADDIX E-COMPOUNDWe use the compound ADDIX E, which we specially developed for e-bikes, in the Pick-Up. It combines maximum durability with low rolling resistance and exceptional grip even at high speeds.TIRE PRESSURESince the system weight of your transport bike can vary hugely (i.e., you + bicycle + cargo), you should check the tire pressure regularly. The Motion Pick-Up needs a minimum of 2.5 and maximum 4 or 4.5 bar. If necessary, you can adjust it with a good pump – but make sure you have a manometer! In fact, the tire's extremely sturdy construction makes the thumb test not very reliable.CONSTANT PERFORMANCE IN GREAT VARIETYThe range of tire sizes is particularly wide for cargo bikes. That’s why the Motion Pick-Up comes in six diameters from 16 to 27.5 inch as well as even more widths. All versions are ECE R75 certified (E50), suitable for fast S-pedelecs too. It is a clincher tire, ridden with an tube and also has a white reflective strip on the side wall.

The lugs in the center create an almost solid running surface. This means the Smart Sam Cargo rolls easily on asphalt and hard surfaces so you get places faster. On the sides, the distance between the lugs is larger. When cornering off-road and leaning the bike slightly to one side, the tread pattern grips the ground firmly, ensuring optimal traction on rough terrain.H3:ADDIX e-compound with recycled carbon blackThe Motion Smart Sam Cargo uses our high-performance compound ADDIX e. This compound is developed especially for e-bikes and s-pedelecs to ensure maximum durability, reduced rolling resistance and very good grip even at high weights and speeds. In our development process, we focus not only on performance but also our environmental responsibility. That’s why we use recycled carbon black (rCB) from our own tire recycling in the production of the Motion Smart Sam Cargo (and many other Schwalbe tires).
