“All-purpose tool” Racing Ralph

“It makes a big impression”. So Bike Sport News (7/2003) judged the super-wide 2.4 inch version of the Racing Ralph, which is available additionally, in 2.1 and 2.25 inch. The low rolling resistance and light weight are common to all three versions and depending upon width it weighs in at 470, 545, 590, or 670 gram as UST Tubeless.

The tead pattern forms the basis for Grip and high speed off-road. “A rounded tread profile allows safe and secure cornering”, assures product manager, Markus Hachmeyer. A continuous row of shoulder lugs keeps the tire stable, while serrations on these lugs provide additional cornering grip. The arrangement of the center lugs and the reduced depth of the tread were designed to keep rolling resistance to a minimum. Additionally all lugs are locked into the tread and to each other with so called ‘Blockbars’. The open tread design also has a great self-cleaning capability.

Whether Cross Country, Marathon, Touring, Biker Cross or Light Freeriding: “Racing Ralph is a genuine ‘all-purpose tool’. “Because it rolls extremely easily, riders save energy” Bohle advisor, Gerrit Gaastra explains. In 2.25 inch it rolls just as easily as the shallow treaded Fast Fred, it is however a true off-road tire. The Racing Ralph fills the gap between Fast Fred and the Albert brothers.
