Ice Spiker Pro HS 379

Lighter, grippier, faster. The ‘turbo’ of spike tires. With 361 spikes on the 26" version and 402 spikes on the 29" it bites firmly into icy roads. The tungsten carbide core of each spike is clad in weigh-saving aluminum.
The scale stops at 695 g, and that is why the MTB remains agile and sporty.

In order to ensure that spikes are permanently fixed, tires should be run in for about 25 miles (40km) on asphalt, while avoiding any fast acceleration or heavy braking.

Fat Tires

With really only one manufacture on the market making Fat Bike Tires it would be great to see something that they aren't producing. Say a Fat Bike winter tire with ice riding ability. Fat Bikes still will slide if you hit sections of ice like we have up in WI from time to time. This would be an awesome complement in a 3.5-4.0 tire.

Big Wheel Ice Tires WANTED

Durango, Colorado rides 29ers, how about some???

Super tire

These tires are great for commuting (Ontario, Canada). These tires have blown me away. Super traction and very predictable. Previously I had the Snow Stud and Marathon Winter tires on my bike, but these tires are absolutely superior. The rolling resistance isn't that bad either. Only very noisy on bare pavement.

Another excuse to look for snow and ice on the side of the road. It is just so much fun to see the faces of drivers when you pass them on the shoulder of a super-slick road.

I really recommend these tires to any serious winter commuter.

29er version would be well

29er version would be well accepted here in Illinois. We are currently running Nokians but not thrilled with the tread pattern. Come on Schwalbe, bring it on home for us nordic nutballs.

29er

Another 29er vote.

29ere version deeply missed

I live in Norway, with lots of snow and ice, 29-ere bike is perfect, however a really
good tyre as Ics Spiker Pro is deeply missed, please create one.

Thanks in advance.

I absolutely agree, we need

I absolutely agree, we need a 29" version!

Please make 29ers tire

I live in Quebec and i need spike, but please make a 29ers

29er version

it sure would be cool if Schwalbe made spiked tires in 29.

You must make a 29er version

I've got a set of Ice Spiker Pros for my 26" bike that give me the confidence to ride anywhere and anything in the winter. Icy hills... No Problem. Icy technical off camber corners... No problem. Unfortunately my 26" bike now sits in a corner in the garage replaced by three 29ers. Probably won't ride the 26" much this winter, sure could use some Ice Spiker Pro's for my 29er.

29"/700

Another vote for a big wheel version. 29er please.

29er

please make a 29"/700 version of these.

conquer icy slopes

I never hear anyone talk about riding on icy hills...maybe all the other winter riders are in the flats? Anyway, with these babies on I ride up and down icy hills with confidence. The only way they skid is if I slam on the brakes, but then it is a controlled slide, I hear and feel the studs biting.

Last winter I rode a set of nashbar studded tires, which don't have center studs - for low rolling resistance with high air pressure. We had freezing rain coat everything with 1/4" of solid ice, so I lowered the air pressure in hopes of the studs making good contact. No such luck, I ate it on just a very slight downhill. This winter I put these ice spiker pros on whenever there is potential for ice. We had a bout of snow which turned to sleet before freezing rain. The result was 1/4" of ice again (to be fair it had a bit more grit than last year). Anyway, I still had amazing traction up and down a fairly steep hill. I've been riding all winter and my confidence keeps growing.

29er Ice Spiker Pro

It would be absolutely amazing if you made a 29er version of this tire. I would buy a pair in a heartbeat.

Ice Spiker Pro

I bought a pair of the Ice Spiker Pro's this past winter and can attest that they are by far the best studded tire I've ever ridden. I've got twenty plus years of winter commuting and racing and I'm extremely impressed with the grip of this tires. Our winter racing club staged an Ice Criterium on a flooded track on a local lake. This surface was like a Zambonied surface. The Ice Spikers allowed me to walk away from the competition. I never had to brake for any of the corners. I just rolled through them all without a need to scrub any of my speed.
