Back to the roots! The CX Pro is a high speed cyclo-cross tire at an unbelievably low weight. The pronounced tread guarantees excellent traction and cornering.

We definately need a 26" CX Pro with Kevlar bead, for all us weight weenie cx racers. Updated graphics wouldnt be a bad idea either, logo looks dated. Mint race tyre.

I've been riding the 700x30 CX Pro for about a year now ... not a ton of miles (I'll blame it on a 6 month old child and I ride my road bike and mtn. bike as well), but it's been an excellent replacement for my previous Vredesteins. It's very responsive and I agree totally with how it is rated by Schwalbe. It is a little loose at speed on the road, but it's solid in the soft and even medium soft stuff if you are running the proper tire pressure. Puncture weed (goathead) season is just beginning again, so I'll find out about the protection factor soon. I mostly ride on them in the foothills directly above Boise (Idaho) ... single-track with dirt that varies a lot ... everything from sand ... to hard, but in general it's medium loose dirt ... medium rocky. Anyway, it seems perfect for that. I also get really good traction while climbing on this tire.
Anyway, consider me a big fan. I also want to try the 26-inch version. I currently run a 26x1.25 on my mtn. bike ... I really like to ride a fast-running, but grippy rear tire for the rides I do around here. Based on CX Pro's performance on my cyclocross bike I'm pretty sure I'd like the CX Pro on my mtn. bike too.

I got a set of these for my mountain bike/daily commuter and absolutely love them! They ride really well, suprisingly fast, and really bite the surface when you want them too. I've put about 200 miles on my first set (mostly road but some mountain trails on the weekends too) and they show very little wear. This is really a great tire that offers a lot at a very reasonable price. I've already recommended it to my friends and suggested to the local bike shops that they consider carrying it in their inventories. My only regret is that they don't offer this tire with kevlar or atleast some better kind of puncture protection, but hey, that's nothing a good liner can't make up for. My final thought on this tire is if you think about it a skinny tire like this isn't very common in the mountain bike world anymore which makes this tire extra special for those looking to set aside their super fat, super heavy, and super slow mountain tires for something a little quicker and more road worthy without going to a slick.

I've been riding on CX Pro for about 6 months and have put a little over 700km on them by commuting. And I'm not talking about normal conditions here. We've had over four meters of snow over the winter! (I live in Quebec, Canada) Roads aren't cleared for days after the storm and yet I was able to ride everyday on 700cx30 (actually a those are 700cx28, measured with a caliper). Amazing! This tire just cuts through the snow. Very good grip on icy patches also. And yet it's still pretty fast once they've cleared the snow. Now road gunk is usually pretty terrible in the winter... oil salt dirt and water... all that can't be good can it? Nope it isn't, I've had to changed break pads more than ever before... But the CX Pro still look like new (tread is a little worn out in the back, but sides are perfect). I had originally wanted to buy a pair of studded Marathon, but my LBS recommended CX Pro's. I just don't see studs as being a good option in the city anymore. Once they've cleared the street there's no need for stud until the next storm. I'm totally sold to the CX Pro! If you're an aggressive bike winter commuter get this tire! You will not regret it! This tire will show all those guys with MTBs for commuting that it's not how you do things... even in harsh winters. And it's cheap on top of that!
i agree
we definitely need a 26" CX Pro In Kevlar Bead. i purchased a competitors 26 x 1.4 because they are lighter than the wire bead 26" CX Pro
