Durano S HS 376

The faster Durano that is the true successor of the Stelvio. Dynamic
slick profile and lots of color variants. Somewhat less durable than
the regular Durano, but lighter and with lower rolling resistance.

I am looking for the Durano S in a 25cc. Will the new tire come in this size or should I purchase the Stelvio 25's?
Is this Durano the same as the ultremo r-1
Hi folks,
I just saw an ad on the net at worldclasscycles.com, selling what they say is a brand new 2010 version of the ultremo r...which is discontinued but now is the ultremo r1. Is this the same as the Durano HS 376? I am looking for a great training tire for my Trek Madone 5.2. Thanks......BTW I have a pair of Marathon Supreme 32's on my Rocky Mountain Sherpa 30.....what a great tire!

Durano S
Hi Jim,
This tire is the Durano S, not to be confused with the UltremoR or R1. The Durano S is a variant of the Durano using a softer compound than the standard Durano. The "S" compound is very much like the old Stelvio. The puncture protection in the Durano S isn't quite as advanced as the Ultremo, and the tire is roughly 30 grams heavier than the Ultremo.
The Durano S is a really nice tire, I'm currently riding on a set of these on my commuting bike.
My choices for a winter training tire however, would be either the Ultremo DD (if you want a very grippy and light tire with a very advanced puncture protection belt), or the Durano Plus (if weight is less of a concern than puncture protection). The Durano Plus employs the same "Smart Guard" protection as found in our Marathon Plus tires.
