Bicycle Tubes

A tube is not just a tube.

Airtightness. Apart from the quality of the ingredients, the purity of the rubber mixture is crucial to the quality of the tube. The base material is therefore sieved at enormous pressure through seven filters before being extruded. All tubes are inserted into a mould and inflated for vulcanization to ensure constant wall thickness and high air pressure retention. Reliability. All tubes are inflated and stored for 24 hours in order to test for air pressure retention. Afterwards each, individual tube undergoes a careful visual inspection. This special quality control helps prevent unpleasant surprises and is why, over many years, Schwalbe tubes have become highly respected for outstanding reliability by bicycle dealers. Group tube system. Only high elasticity and good quality allows a tube to cover very many tire sizes. Tube No. 17 can fit tire widths between 28 mm and 47 mm and that is a big advantage to the trade and simultaneously it vouches for the tube’s quality. Only an extremely high-quality and reliable tube is up to to this requirement. Valve. All valves are nickel plated and threaded and valve inserts are replaceable. Also Schwalbe tubes with the classic bicycle valve are capable of pressure testing thanks to a high pressure valve seal. And it is plain to see as each tube is crowned with a transparent polycarbonate dust cap. To find the appropriate tube for your tire size, first select your preferred valve type:

I ride a Swedish bicycle. Skeppshult nature. www.skeppshultbikes.com It came with Schwalbe tires called City Plus
47-622 (28 X 1.75) HS 357 The original tubes have presta valves

I need to buy two tubes for these tires. Could someone please suggest two options that might be appropriate for me. I ride In Brooklyn New York. maybe one Presta and one Schraeder.

The original tubes have a presta valve.

Can anybody point out one or two appropriate tubes for me to order from this sight. maybe one presta and one Schraeder. I’m assuming that if I am replacing tire and tubes I can change to schraeder if i want to. True?

When tubes come in different weights (like 190g, 130g and 95g) are they any different from a performance or durability point of view? For example, would a 190g tube hold air better or last longer than the 95g option?

Odd Tire - tube size

The closest thing in the Schwalbe size list is 28 X 1 5/8 x 1 3/8. Is this the same size? WHY?!?!?!?

29er tubes

I never bought Schwalbe tubes even if I’m a Schwalbe tire fan, figuring that all tubes are the same. However, threaded and screwed valves are nonexistent on the cheap tube market, and I’m tired of cutting the valve-tube junction by the oscillating effect of pumping. As I can see at the top of the page, Schrader valves seems threaded. Am I right? In that case I’ sold to Schwalbe tubes.

Will the tubes with Dutch valves [also known as Woods valves, Dunlop valves, or Blitz valves] become available for purchase here? I am most interested in the DV 17 tubes for my own bicycles, but perhaps there are other people in North America who would like to be able to buy “proper” tubes for their Dutch bicycles, old Raleigh roadsters, &c.
