Fat Albert Rear

It is almost ten years ago that Fat Albert took mountain biking into a new era. It was the first
tire that provided both lightness and large volume. Now there is a completely new Fat Albert.
Its core competences remain though: Large volume. Low weight. Strong SnakeSkin side wall.

FAT ALBERT REAR. On the rear Fat Albert provides reliable power transfer. The Rear version
has U-Blocks specially positioned to optimize traction and give more control in curves.
Fat Albert has tough, resilient lugs, because durability counts more than saving the last gram.

The Tubeless version is particularly strong. A butyl layer covers the inside of the tire,
while on the outside SnakeSkin fabric covers the side walls.

Fat Albert. Front & Rear. The best combination for Alpencross.

Performance Plus

Great all-round tire. I've been using the 2.25" version front and rear. Climbs well but still tough enough to handle "Shore Style" descents.

much nicer than previous Fat Albert

Plesently surprised! The NEW Fat Albert rear 2.4 is much nicer than previous FA tires. It's more sticky and much less "bouncy". The Snakeskin version withstood an entire summer in the harsh, high-speed sharp-rock-infested Southwest without tearing a sidewall (blown through TWO Continental Rubber Queen sidewalls in the same time frame).

I just ordered the Front version - will report in a few months.

Nice!

Just a great all around tire, works well in many conditions, excels in rocks, roots, and dry over hard pack and crusty dust in the SouthWest USA. Would love to see it in an economical wire bead option with ORC. Rolling resistance feels about the same, maybe a bit less than the 2.35 Fat Albert.
