Big Betty HS 358
Just Freeride, no cosmetics. The large volume and HEAVY DUTY features make BIG BETTY really tough. The tread is optimized for braking performance and steering. Even so these qualities do not make it too heavy for uphill. Betty can also have a soft side - with super-soft Gooey Gluey Compound.
** PaceStar, TrailStar and VertStar compounds are 2011 versions

so far awesome
i just got a new bike that came with big bettys on it and after 3 days of riding these tires are awesome. i havent had a sketchy moment on them. the only problem i see right now is wear. only 3 days on them and i am noticing alot of wear on them already and at 86 bucks a pop, if im going to have to replace front and back once a month, 172 dollars on tires might get rough. but the grip is insane.
Awesome Rear Trials Tire
I can assure anyone interested this is the best rear tire for trials use. The Gooey Gluey compound is the softest and stickiest available on the market and holds tight in the most precaious situations. I have no problems riding top level trials and trusting this tire to stick when it's all on the line.
over 120 grams more weight
The UST (tubeless) is now 1100 grams instead of 980 grams. How is this possible? This is getting too heavy.
What Compound Durometer?
Gooey Gluey is nice marketing fluff, but I can't comparison shop with other tires without a Specific Shore A durometer. My application is trials, so softer is better. The Maxxis compound that you are competing with is Shore A 42.
Awesome Rear Trials Tire
I can assure anyone interested in this tire for trials use, it is the best offering available on the market today. It is the lightest and softest tire I have ridden top level trials competitions on. I trust this tire to stick when I need it most.
29'er please?
Will we ever see this in a 29'er carcass? Simply the best gripping tire I ever ran up front on my 26, but due to my size, I now ride a 29'er, and miss the Big Betty's awesome grip.
