Kojak's - Schwalbe "Pic of the Day" - Congrats to Renold Yip - YiPsan Bicycles
Submitted by Kojak on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 10:50am.This bike built by Renold Yip of YiPsan Bicycles won the “Best City Bike” and “Peoples Choice” awards at the 2010 North American Handmade Bicycle Show. We know the award goes to YiPsan, but we are definitely flattered that our Schwalbe Marathon tires were Renold’s tire of choice for this project.
Input Appreciated
Submitted by dford on Mon, 01/03/2010 - 1:39pm.I’m looking for a tire for my mountain bike turned commuter bike, with the following characteristics:
1. 26 x not less than 2” wide…no more than 2.25 wide. I like the look of a bigger tire, the nobbies on there now measure 2.25 across the widest nobs…could go slightly wider.
2. Highly puncture resistant…hate flats…don’t we all.
3. Exceptional traction, especially on wet pavement.

Submitted by Kojak on Wed, 24/02/2010 - 12:25pm.This is a very cool restoration project, completed by one of our customers. Yes, it’s an early 60’s Sears bike built in Austria by Puch. Yeah, I know…. not necessarily what you’d expect from Sears. George M. of Arizona finished off the project with some nice Schwalbe Delta Cruiser White Wall tires.

Submitted by Kojak on Thu, 18/02/2010 - 4:10pm.Yesterday I posted a Scott mountain bike, so I feel compelled to balance the scale and post a picture of one of the new Cannondale road machines; I’d hate for someone to feel neglected here. Expect this bike to come in at or around the UCI minimum weight for road machines. Cannondale doesn’t publish the weight, but encourages you to pop down to your local dealer and hang one on the scale…

Submitted by Kojak on Wed, 17/02/2010 - 11:54am.2010 Scott Bikes should be out by now and on display at your favorite bike shop. This year, many of their high-end models are equipped with our tires. Very cool (at least we think so), and in some part, validation that the Schwalbe brand has arrived in North America. The white Rocket Ron tires are kick ass, but unfortunately they are not yet available to the tire buying public…..

Submitted by Kojak on Fri, 12/02/2010 - 10:47am.Today’s pic is another Fast Boy entry. This is one of the coolest urban assault vehicles I’ve ever seen. It has a flip/flop rear hub; fixie on one side, singlespeed with a freewheel on the other. Nicely finished with a set of our Super Moto tires. The Super Moto is essentially a folding Big Apple without puncture protection. More susceptible to punctures? Yes. Lighter and snappier?

This one ought to especially please the fixie crowd.

Naked Cycles in British Columbia builds some of the most interesting custom bikes you’ll ever lay eyes on. So interesting that a certain very famous cyclist from Austin named Lance, bought one on the spot at the North American Handbuilt Bicycle show in 2008. Check out their website to reveal the bike’s proud owner.
